Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Med Tech to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, and home care environments. This role requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, documentation, and patient safety protocols. The Med Tech will work closely with nursing staff to support individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer’s, and other chronic conditions. Experience with EMR/EHR systems and medical terminology is essential to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Duties
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety standards
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
- Support patients with activities of daily living, including mobility, hygiene, and feeding assistance
- Document patient care accurately using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or memory impairments in memory or hospice care settings
- Assist with tube feeding, catheter care, and other specialized medical procedures as trained
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines
- Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality
- Support patients in home & community care settings by providing compassionate caregiving tailored to their needs
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or home care environments preferred
- Knowledge of medical documentation, medical records management, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is highly desirable
- Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s is a plus
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medication administration protocols
- Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and recognize abnormal findings
- Certification or training in medication administration preferred but not required; willingness to obtain relevant certifications is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and compassionate bedside manner
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Compliance with all licensing requirements and HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
