Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Med Tech to join our assisted living community. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, nursing home environments, or hospital settings, with a strong understanding of medical documentation, patient care, and medical terminology. This role involves providing high-quality support to residents with various needs, including those requiring Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and hospice support. The Med Tech will work closely with nursing staff to ensure residents’ health and safety while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards. Prior experience with EMR/EHR systems.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities and personal care, including medication administration and vital signs monitoring
- Support residents with specialized needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, and mobility assistance
- Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ health status to nursing staff promptly
- Help manage medication schedules and ensure proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals
- Provide compassionate care tailored to residents with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other memory impairments
- Assist in coordinating care plans for residents with developmental disabilities or those requiring hospice or acute care services
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive home & community care
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and nursing practices
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems; experience with medical documentation is highly desirable
- Excellent caregiving skills with the ability to work compassionately with seniors and individuals with disabilities
- Ability to accurately measure vital signs and perform basic clinical procedures such as tube feeding and catheter care
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information
- Effective communication skills for working closely with residents, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy in hospice or memory care settings
