Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Med Tech / Caregiver to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in various care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, caregiving, and medical support, with experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. This role involves delivering personalized care to enhance the well-being and safety of residents or patients while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards and regulations. The Med Tech / Caregiver will play a vital role in fostering a respectful, supportive atmosphere that promotes dignity and independence for those served.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents or patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence.
• Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, documenting findings accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Administer medications safely following prescribed protocols while maintaining detailed medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Support specialized care needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, memory care, hospice, or other chronic conditions by implementing tailored care plans.
• Perform medical procedures including catheter care, tube feeding assistance, and wound care under the supervision of nursing staff or healthcare providers.
• Maintain accurate records of patient care activities using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Cerner to ensure seamless communication among healthcare teams.
• Observe and report changes in residents’ or patients’ physical or emotional condition promptly to appropriate medical personnel.
• Uphold safety standards by adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring a clean environment conducive to healing and comfort.
• Provide compassionate support to individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized caregiving approaches.

Requirements

• Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic nursing practices essential for patient care.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of medical records and patient information.
• Certification in caregiving or relevant healthcare training preferred; CPR certification is a plus.
• Ability to perform medical procedures including medication administration, catheter care, and tube feeding with precision and attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and protection of patient information.
• Excellent communication skills coupled with compassion and patience when working with individuals with disabilities or complex health needs.
