Med Tech- Part-time

The Gilbert Residence provides exceptional nursing care to 32 residents. Supportive Living, Assisted Living and Specialized Dementia care to 58 residents. We carry a long tradition of excellence by providing compassionate and dignified care.

The med tech provides direct, primary care to residents, and delegates/supervises the care provided by the resident assistants for a designated shift. He/She is responsible for working in a coordinated effort with the department managers to maintain the smooth function of the Assisted Living and Memory Care units.

DUTIES

• Meets with members of the interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate resident's care
• Document resident activities accurately and in a timely manner
• Assist with admission, transferdischarge of residents
• Makes rounds with physicianother team members as needed
• Participates in developing, implementing,revising resident service plans
• Communicate and coordinate care with residentstheir families
• Administer treatmentsother direct care
• Prepareadminister medication as prescribed
• Order or arrange for ordering of pharmaceuticals
• Collect specimens as ordered
• Promote a positive image of long-term care
• Protect the privacy of residents
• Provide educationinstruction to resident familiesstaff as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Graduate or GED
• Med passing experience required
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Knowledge of medications and medication therapies
• Positive attitude
• Must be reliable
• Must be available every other weekend (SatSunday)
