Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and possess a solid understanding of physiology and anatomy. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and hospice care. The Medical Technician will be responsible for assisting healthcare professionals in delivering patient care, ensuring that all patients receive the attention and support they need. This is a Medical Technician and Caregiver split position.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily care of patients, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, and acute care needs.
- Perform routine medical procedures such as tube feeding and basic assessments under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
- Document patient information accurately using electronic health record systems like Epic.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during challenging times.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills related to patient care.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly with individuals with developmental disabilities or in nursing homes/hospice care.
- Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy as it relates to patient care.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, preferably Epic.
- Ability to perform tasks related to tube feeding and other acute care responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
- Certification or training relevant to medical technology or patient care is preferred but not mandatory.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
