Job Summary

The Med Tech/Caregiver is responsible for providing compassionate care and assistance to residents while ensuring medications are administered accurately and safely according to physician orders and facility policies. This position combines caregiving duties with medication administration and promotes residents’ dignity, independence, and quality of life.

Shift: 6 am-6:30 pm Saturday & Sunday

Could be Part Time with just those 2 days or potential for FT with some swing shifts as well.

Key ResponsibilitiesMedication Administration

  • Prepare, administer, and document medications accurately following the Five Rights of Medication Administration (right resident, right medication, right dose, right time, right route).
  • Maintain proper storage and security of medications.
  • Observe residents for medication side effects and report any changes to the nurse or supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate medication records, including MARs (Medication Administration Records).
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, and restocking medications and supplies.

Resident Care

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and eating.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
  • Observe and report changes in residents’ physical or mental condition.
  • Support residents in maintaining their independence and privacy.
  • Assist in transporting residents to dining areas, activities, or appointments as needed.

Housekeeping & Safety

  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment.
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations (falls, medical incidents, fire drills, etc.).

Teamwork & Communication

  • Communicate effectively with nurses, supervisors, families, and other staff.
  • Participate in care plan meetings and training sessions.
  • Document all care and observations accurately and promptly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous caregiving experience in an assisted living or long-term care setting preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (may be required or provided upon hire).
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Compassionate, patient, and dependable with strong attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist residents with mobility.
  • Standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
