Media Buyer – Paid Advertising & Digital Marketing
Job Overview: The Media Buyer will be responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing paid advertising campaigns across Facebook/Meta, Google, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms to generate qualified leads, specifically business owners considering selling their companies. This role owns the full paid media funnel: from audience research and ad creative strategy through campaign management, testing, and performance reporting. Beyond paid media, the Media Buyer will support broader marketing initiatives that increase brand awareness and position Paul Cheetham & Vanla Group as a leading M&A advisory firm in the lower-middle market.

Key Responsibilities:
Paid Media Strategy & Execution:
- Build, launch, and manage paid advertising campaigns across Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google Ads (Search, Display, YouTube), and LinkedIn Ads.
- Develop and test audience targeting strategies—including lookalike audiences, retargeting funnels, custom audiences from CRM data, and interest/demographic targeting to reach business owners aged 55+ and other high-value seller profiles.
- Manage ad budgets, bidding strategies, and pacing across platforms to maximize ROAS and cost-per-lead efficiency.
- Create and iterate on ad creative concepts, copy, and landing page recommendations in collaboration with the team (or independently).
- Build and optimize retargeting campaigns across the buyer journey to nurture prospects from awareness through to consultation booking.
- Set up and maintain proper tracking infrastructure (Meta Pixel, Google Tag Manager, conversion APIs, UTM parameters) to ensure accurate attribution.
- Run structured A/B and multivariate tests on creative, copy, audiences, and landing pages to continuously improve performance.
- Monitor campaign performance daily and make real-time optimizations to spend, targeting, and creative.
Lead Generation & CRM Management:
- Drive qualified lead flow into the sales pipeline through paid and organic channels.
- Build and manage lead databases using CRM software; ensure clean data and proper lead scoring/tagging.
- Qualify inbound leads through initial outreach or Lead Form (email, phone, social) and hand off sales-ready prospects to the broker.
- Track lead-to-close conversion rates across channels and provide actionable insights on funnel performance.
- Collaborate with the broker to align marketing efforts with deal flow needs and ensure a smooth handoff process.
Broader Marketing Support:
- Manage and grow social media presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram with organic content that builds credibility and engagement.
- Develop and execute email marketing campaigns and drip sequences tailored to prospective sellers.
- Support SEO efforts and website content optimization to improve organic search visibility.
- Assist in coordinating thought leadership initiatives, podcast appearances, webinars, networking events, and speaking engagements for Paul Cheetham.
- Track marketing KPIs across all channels and generate regular performance reports with clear recommendations.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience creating & managing paid advertising campaigns on Meta Ads and Google Ads, with demonstrable results (provide case studies or performance metrics if possible).
- Experience with LinkedIn Ads is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of full-funnel digital marketing from top-of-funnel awareness through retargeting and conversion.
- Proficiency with ad platforms, Google Analytics/GA4, Google Tag Manager, and CRM tools.
- Strong analytical skills, comfortable pulling data, reading dashboards, and making budget/creative decisions based on performance.
- Experience with landing page builders and/or basic knowledge of conversion rate optimization.
- Excellent written communication skills, able to write compelling ad copy and email sequences.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, small-team environment.
- Experience marketing professional services, financial services, real estate, or B2B is preferred. Knowledge of M&A or business brokerage is a bonus.
