Medic - On Call - Nights and Weekends

You’ll respond to field calls, provide first aid, collect testing specimens, and support businesses throughout the community, all from the comfort and flexibility of responding from your own home.

Job Summary

Respond to field calls and provide initial on-site first aid to injured employees and patrons at local businesses. Collect urine and blood specimens for drug testing. May be scheduled for up to 24-hour shifts, including some weekends. On-call shifts are paid with a stipend. If the minimum number of shifts are met per month (16 twelve-hour shifts), a guaranteed stipend of $1,760/month is provided. An hourly wage (TBD) is paid for time spent on calls in addition to the guaranteed stipend.
Medics take home a work vehicle stocked with supplies and respond from their residence. When not actively on a call, medics may use their time for personal matters but must remain prepared to respond promptly.

Education & Licensure

  • Current Oregon Emergency Medical Technician certification in good standing
  • Current driver’s license
  • CPR certification

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum six months of field experience delivering direct patient care with a recognized EMS agency (paid or volunteer)
  • Insurable driving record
  • Willingness to obtain additional training and certifications as requested
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and confidentiality
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and multitasking effectively
