Medical Administrative Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Administrative Assistant to join our therapy team! The job position is Monday-Thursday, 8:30-5 PM. We are a private practice providing speech and occupational therapy to a variety of ages. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and healthcare providers, ensuring smooth clinic operations through exceptional administrative support. Your expertise in medical office management will be instrumental in delivering high-quality patient service .. Duties

  • Manage patient scheduling
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits through insurance verification processes for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers
  • Assist patients with intake procedures, including collecting demographic information and explaining clinic policies
  • Review and update medical records ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Support documentation review for accuracy in care plans, treatment notes, and clinical reports while maintaining confidentiality
  • Operate phone systems with professional phone etiquette to coordinate appointments and address patient inquiries
  • Maintain office organization through filing, data entry, and managing electronic health records with proficiency in Microsoft Office and health information management systems
  • Provide front desk support by greeting patients, managing appointment schedules, and assisting with office management tasks

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with familiarity in clinic operations and medical administrative support
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and health information management software
  • Ability to handle insurance verification processes efficiently for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance plans
  • Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, documentation review, and office management tasks
  • Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for specific systems used within the practice
