Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Administrative Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and healthcare providers, ensuring smooth clinic operations and exceptional patient service. Your expertise in medical administrative support, combined with your knowledge of medical terminology and hospital procedures, will help facilitate efficient patient intake, appointment scheduling, and record management. This position offers an engaging environment where your organizational skills and healthcare knowledge will directly contribute to delivering high-quality patient care across various specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient services.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures, including verifying insurance information and collecting necessary documentation
  • Manage patient appointments through Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring accurate scheduling and timely follow-up
  • Collect vital signs, review patient histories, and document clinical information accurately for provider review
  • Support clinical staff with basic medical tasks such as intake assessments, medication administration support, and recording vital signs
  • Maintain comprehensive and organized medical records in compliance with privacy regulations and hospital policies
  • Assist with ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases) to ensure proper billing and documentation accuracy
  • Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and other healthcare departments to facilitate seamless care delivery

Qualifications

  • Proven experience supporting medical teams in outpatient or hospital settings; experience in dermatology, emergency medicine, or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable
  • Strong familiarity with EHR systems, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology concepts, and ICD coding practices
  • Knowledge of hospital medicine protocols including inpatient care procedures such as ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Geriatrics, Medical-surgical units, OR (Operating Room), and Level I/II trauma center operations
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is preferred
  • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in fast-paced environments like urgent care or emergency departments
  • Familiarity with X-ray procedures and medication administration support is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and data entry

Pay: $25.00 per hour
