We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Administrative Assistant to support our growing home health team.
Position Summary
The Medical Administrative Assistant in a home health setting plays a vital role in coordinating patient services, supporting clinicians in the field and ensuring timely communication between patients, families, physicians and insurance providers. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule home health visits for nurses, therapists, and aides
- Manage intake of new patients, including referrals and documentation
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR)
- Communicate with physicians regarding orders, updates, and care plans
- Answer and route incoming calls from patients, families, and staff
- Track physician orders and ensure timely signatures and compliance
- Assist with billing preparation and documentation review
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and home health regulations
- Support field staff with administrative needs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred)
- 1+ year of medical office or home health administrative experience preferred
- Knowledge of home health documentation processes (preferred)
- Experience with EMR systems
- Familiarity with insurance verification and authorizations
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills

Pay: $40,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
