Duties
- Assist with patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories and documenting vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure all necessary supplies are stocked for efficient patient visits.
- Support physicians during procedures by handing instruments, assisting with procedures, or administering medications under supervision.
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems by accurately entering patient information, updating records, and coding diagnoses using ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes.
- Conduct basic life support (BLS) procedures when necessary and respond promptly to emergency situations within hospital or clinic environments.
- Perform routine clinical tasks such as drawing blood, administering medications, taking patient histories, and assisting with physiologic assessments.
- Coordinate patient scheduling, verify insurance information, and handle medical administrative support to streamline clinic operations.
- Support functional wellness care management from intake to follow up including medication order, lab management, and leads.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to support accurate patient care.
- Experience working in diverse settings such as dermatology clinics, emergency departments (including Level I Trauma Centers), hospital wards (medical-surgical units), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Geriatrics environments.
- Familiarity with hospital experience including inpatient care protocols and Level II trauma center procedures.
- Proficiency in EHR systems with the ability to document efficiently and accurately; experience with ICD coding is highly desirable.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient interactions across outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Ability to perform vital signs collection, intake procedures, medication administration, procedural assistance, and basic anatomy knowledge.
- Prior experience supporting urgent care or emergency medicine teams is a plus; familiarity with hospital medicine workflows enhances your effectiveness.
