Medical Assistant

Duties:

Escort and Preparing patients for examinations in Urgent Care: Including obtaining vitals, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature primary complaint and reason for visit and documenting into EMR system
Have your own Stethoscope for your use
Obtaining medical histories
Assisting the physician during examinations and may perform minor wound care, suture removal, sterile-tray set up and assisting the physician with other in-office procedures
Drawing & administering injections
Phlebotomy is a plus
Performing in-office testing
Explaining medical procedures to patients
Instructing patients about medication and special diets
May collect laboratory specimens
Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required and dispose of contaminated supplies

Requirements:

-High school diploma or equivalent.
-Completion of a medical assistant training program or certification.
- Previous experience working in a hospital or medical setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures and terminology.
- Basic life support certification required.
- Proficiency in computer skills and electronic health record systems.

Education and Experience :

Must have thorough education and training in the basics of medical terminology
Must have specialized training in Medical Assisting
Must be a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
Must have a current CPR Certificate
