Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature to support diagnosis and treatment plans
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit
- Support clinical procedures such as medication administration, X-ray imaging, and basic life support when necessary
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR systems), including ICD coding and detailed documentation of patient encounters
- Assist with inpatient and outpatient care coordination across various departments like geriatrics, internal medicine, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and medical-surgical units
- Perform basic anatomy and physiology assessments to aid providers in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Support hospital experience requirements by assisting in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers as needed
- Conduct routine clinical tasks such as specimen collection, processing lab samples, and preparing patients for procedures in surgical or OR settings
Experience
- Prior experience working in dermatology clinics or hospital medicine environments preferred but not required; relevant clinic experience is highly valued
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols necessary for effective patient care support
- Experience with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions essential for maintaining accurate records
- Hands-on experience in emergency medicine or urgent care settings is advantageous
- Familiarity with inpatient care procedures within Level I or Level II trauma centers enhances your ability to thrive in diverse clinical environments
- Previous roles involving X-ray support or OR assistance will be considered a strong asset
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are a plus
