Job Title: Full-Time Medical Assistant - Texas Primary and Pediatric Care
Job Description: Texas Primary and Pediatric Care is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dedicated team. As a medical assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and ensuring smooth operations within our healthcare facility. This is a full-time position based in Texas.
Responsibilities:
· Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and coordinating referrals
· Greet patients, verify their information, and assist with the check-in process
· Prepare examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and stocking necessary supplies
· Escort patients to examination rooms and assist healthcare providers with patient examinations
· Take patient vital signs, record medical history, and update patient charts accurately
· Administer injections, medications, and vaccines as directed by healthcare providers
· Conduct basic laboratory tests and perform phlebotomy when necessary
· Provide patient education and instructions regarding medications, procedures, and follow-up care
· Assist in coordinating patient referrals, including scheduling appointments with specialists and obtaining medical records
· Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following infection control protocols and standards
· Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient care and promote a positive patient experience
Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assistant program preferred
· Proven experience as a medical assistant in a primary care or pediatric setting
· Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and basic laboratory techniques
· Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and computer skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate and friendly demeanor
· Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
· Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
· CPR certification and other relevant certifications are a plus
