Medical Assistant

Total MD is looking for a dynamic and seasoned medical assistant to join our Family Medicine and Urgent care team. The medical assistant will work under the supervision of a fully licensed and accredited physician while assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist Physician/Mid Level Provider with minor in office medical procedures.

Phlebotomy

EKG's

Immunizations and therapeutic injections

Prepare patients for school, sport and work physicals

Communicate effectively with outsourced labs and pharmacies.

Triage patients

Prepare refill requests to attending providers.

Prior Authorizations for medications

Intake and chart documentation.

Address all patient questions and concerns.

Demonstrate professionalism and customer service focused behavior at all times.

Abide by HIPAA laws and observe OSHA regulations at all times.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Must be personable with a professional demeanor.

Must be familiar with HIPAA regulations and medical information sharing practices.

Knowledge of HEDIS and geriatric questionnaires

Must be able to multitask.

Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to interact positively and effectively with multiple departments.

Ability to use good judgment and utilize independent decision-making skills to effectively problem solve, resolve issues and facilitate department efficiency and productivity.

Ability to prioritize and organize tasks and to maintain flexibility in response to constantly changing demands.

EMR trained and eClinical Works experience a plus!

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
