Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks like medication administration, wound dressing, X-ray preparation, and basic life support during emergencies
- Support physicians and nurses in various specialties including dermatology, geriatrics, internal medicine, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and medical-surgical units
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately by documenting patient encounters, ICD coding for diagnoses, and updating medical records in real-time
- Conduct basic physiology and anatomy assessments to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Prepare patients for examinations or procedures in outpatient clinics or hospital settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring comfort throughout visits
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in hospital medicine, emergency departments, outpatient clinics, or similar healthcare environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration procedures
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as X-ray operation or OR experience are advantageous
- Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support tasks including appointment scheduling and patient check-in/out processes
- Experience working in hospital settings like Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers enhances your candidacy
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care across diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients in PICU settings
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced environments such as urgent care or medical-surgical units
