Job Overview
We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team here at Premier Heart and Vascular. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in outpatient clinic settings with at least 1 year of experience as Medical Assistant. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care, assisting healthcare professionals, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for performing clinical tasks, managing patient interactions, and maintaining accurate medical records. Doing EKGs, Verification of meds, and orders. eCW (eclinical works EMR is a big bouns).

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Measure and record vital signs accurately.
• Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining their medical history and current health status.
• Administer medications as directed by the physician or nurse.
• Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for testing.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment.
• Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards in documentation.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
• Support with Procedures in the office setting.
• Answer phone calls, setup patient appointments, refill medications, order testing as indicated by the healthcare staff.
• Collaborate with other healthcare staff to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinic or hospital setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with hospital medicine practices and emergency medicine protocols is a plus.
• Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of clinical procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
• Experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings is highly desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
