Medical Assistant

Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with intake procedures to ensure a seamless check-in process
  • Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by explaining steps and ensuring comfort
  • Administer EKG (Electrocardiogram)
  • Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient encounters, ICD coding, and treatment plans
  • Support medical administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing referrals, and maintaining organized patient files
  • Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment in accordance with hospital or clinic protocols, including infection control practices

Skills

  • Experience working in hospital medicine, urgent care, outpatient clinics or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable (But not required)
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, ICD coding and physiology concepts (Prefered but not required)
  • Ability to perform intake assessments, measure vital signs accurately, and assist with medication administration
  • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations
  • Knowledge of hospital protocols related to Level I trauma centers or Level II trauma center experience enhances your candidacy
