Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support within our medical facility. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting healthcare providers in various settings, including outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, and hospitals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient intake, including obtaining vital signs and medical histories
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of healthcare professionals
  • Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation
  • Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems
  • Perform basic life support and emergency procedures when necessary
  • Support dermatology, internal medicine, hospital medicine, and urgent care operations
  • Conduct X-ray procedures and assist in outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Utilize ICD coding for accurate billing and insurance purposes
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient assessments
  • Provide administrative support including scheduling appointments and managing medical records

Skills

  • Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of basic life support techniques
  • Experience with EHR systems for efficient patient documentation
  • Strong background in various medical fields such as dermatology, emergency medicine, geriatrics, PICU, OR experience, medical-surgical, and internal medicine
  • Ability to perform intake assessments and measure vital signs accurately
  • Knowledge of ICD coding practices for effective billing processes
  • Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate care
  • Familiarity with hospital experience including Level I and Level II trauma centers
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a clinical setting

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
