Position Overview

We are looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant (Per Diem) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in an LGBTQ+ affirming environment and is committed to providing respectful, high-quality patient care. This is a great opportunity for an MA who wants flexible hours and meaningful work in a values-driven clinic.

Responsibilities

Clinical Duties:

Room patients and obtain vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, weight, temperature)

Chart in electronic medical record

Prepare and assist with in-clinic procedures including injections, blood draws, etc

Perform phlebotomy and process lab specimens

Administer vaccines and document appropriately

Assist with procedures as needed

Prepare exam rooms and maintain clinical supply inventory

Perform point-of-care testing (HIV rapid tests, STI testing, glucose monitoring)

Administrative Duties:

Check patients in and out and assist with scheduling

Scan and manage patient documents in EHR

Respond to patient messages via Spruce Health platform under provider direction

Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times

Qualifications

Required:

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), OR equivalent clinical training/experience

Comfortable working with LGBTQ+ patients including transgender and non-binary individuals

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently in a small clinic setting

Reliable, punctual, and professional

Preferred:

Experience with EHR systems (Charm preferred)

Familiarity with gender-affirming care, HIV/PrEP, or sexual health

Phlebotomy experience
