Medical Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support within our facility, which specializes in various medical fields including Dermatology, Internal Medicine, and Geriatrics. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, such as a Level I Trauma Center.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Prepare patients for their appointments by taking medical histories and recording vital signs.
• Manage patient records and ensure accurate coding for billing purposes.
• Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
• Coordinate patient referrals and follow-up appointments.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and health maintenance.
• Support emergency medicine procedures when necessary.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or similar role in a hospital or clinical setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, coding practices, and patient care protocols.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work in high-pressure situations, especially within emergency medicine contexts.
• A commitment to providing high-quality care to diverse patient populations.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant is a plus but not required.

Pay: $19.42 - $20.03 per hour
