JOB DUTIES
- Escorts patients to exam rooms.
- Assesses vital signs accurately alerting providers to any abnormalities.
- Reviews medications accurately and provides documentation in chart of current medication list and dosing.
- Cleans and restocks exam rooms.
- Organizes patient charts for next day to include researching and obtaining patient medical information in compliance with HIPPAA laws.
- Provides verbal education as well as educational materials to patients and families.
- Communicates information to physician to maintain continuity of care and alerts physician of any new developments in regards to his/her patient.
- Performs patient care actions consistent with established policies and procedures within scope of practice and under the direction of physician and nurse.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and is compliant with the HIPAA regulations.
- Performs blood draws as ordered utilizing clean technique and universal safety precautions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required
- A certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant Program
- Medical terminology and pharmacology background preferred.
- Experience :
- Prior nurse aide/nurse assistant work experience in clinic or hospital preferred
