Job Title: Medical Assistant (MA)

Location: Visit Health Urgent Care - Van Nuys

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to join our fast-paced urgent care team. In this role, you will support providers in delivering high-quality, efficient patient care by performing clinical tasks such as patient intake, vital signs, administering medications and injections, performing diagnostic tests (including EKGs and rapid tests), assisting with procedures, and ensuring exam rooms are cleaned and stocked. You will also support occupational health services, including drug screens, breath alcohol testing, and TB/vision testing. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and thrives in a collaborative environment with a strong focus on patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and prepare patients for examination and treatment
• Take and record vital signs and patient history
• Assist with minor procedures and treatments
• Perform diagnostic testing and specimen collection
• Administer medications and immunizations as ordered
• Ensure exam rooms are cleaned, stocked, and prepared for each visit
• Support work comp and occupational health services as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a safe clinical environment

Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant course completion
• Previous urgent care, family practice, or emergency department experience a plus
• Current CPR certification required
• Excellent communication and multitasking skills
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required
