As we prepare to expand into in-person clinic services, we are seeking a Medical Assistant who is adaptable, community-focused, and excited to grow alongside our organization.
Position Overview
This role will evolve as clinic operations expand. Initially, the Medical Assistant will support community-based services, testing, and administrative functions. Once in-person clinic services commence, the role will transition to include front desk coverage and direct clinical support.
Key Responsibilities
Initial Phase (Pre-Clinic Operations)

Conduct HIV testing and related services in accordance with certification and protocols

Support community outreach events, health fairs, and testing events

Assist with medical administrative duties as delegated by clinical and administrative leadership

Support documentation, data entry, and coordination related to testing and events

Maintain confidentiality and compliance with all applicable health and privacy regulations

Work with Chief Operating Officer and Director of Community Engagement & Prevention as directed
Clinic Operations Phase (Once In-Person Services Begin)

Serve as front desk support, including patient intake, scheduling, and check-in

Act as Medical Assistant supporting provider(s), including clinical rooming, vitals, and patient preparation

Continue HIV testing services as part of clinic workflow

Assist with clinic operations, patient flow, and coordination of care

Support administrative and clinical tasks as needed to ensure smooth daily operations
Required Qualifications

Certified Medical Assistant (or equivalent training)

HIV 500 and HIV 501 Certifications
(or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire)

Experience with HIV testing, community health, or public health
-
Proficient with technology/computing systems (Microsoft365, project management software)

Experience using EMRs (Electronic Medical Record systems)

Front desk or patient intake experience in a medical environment

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Comfortable working in both community-based and clinic-based environments

Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable in a growing organization

Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a non-profit, community health, or public health setting

Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
Compensation
-
40 hours per week as a W2 employee

$25/hour
