Responsibilities
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to support accurate diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical histories, updating records, and explaining procedures clearly.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks including medication administration, specimen collection, and basic wound care procedures.
- Manage medical documentation with precision, including ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, coordinating appointments, and facilitating smooth patient flow throughout the clinic or hospital setting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical support role within hospital or outpatient environments.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and medical terminology to accurately document patient encounters.
- Strong understanding of physiology and anatomy.
