Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to monitor patient health status effectively.
  • Support providers during clinical procedures including medication administration, wound care, or minor treatments in outpatient or inpatient settings.
  • Perform basic diagnostic tasks such as assisting with laboratory tests to facilitate timely diagnoses.
  • Manage medical documentation with precision, including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to ensure proper billing and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support accurate patient assessments and procedures.
  • Experience working in Primary Care is a plus.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems for documentation, scheduling, and communication within outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding standards, and medication administration protocols.
  • Ability to perform intake assessments, vital signs collection.
