We are an established and expanding integrative medicine clinic in Bethesda, Maryland. We are seeking a dependable, energetic Medical Assistant to join our team. This is an active, hands-on position where you’ll help keep the clinic running smoothly and support exceptional patient care. You’ll spend the majority of your shift on your feet, and on the move prepping treatment rooms, assisting with patient tasks and front desk operations as needed. Note: MA certification is not required but welcomed.

This role is ideal for someone who takes initiative, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and work hard. We provide on the job training, promote from within and are looking for someone eager to own their work, grow with our practice. Our ideal candidate is interested in stepping into greater responsibility as we expand.

What You’ll Do

  • Champion Patient Experience: Warmly greet and check in patients, assist with initial symptom screening, and process efficient check-out as needed
  • Support Scheduling & Documentation: Manage scheduling and uphold meticulous EMR documentation, ensuring accuracy across all patient records and communications (using Google Workspace/Microsoft Office) Accurately collect payments.
  • Perform General Administrative Duties: Maintain essential office functions, including scanning, filing, managing phones, and emails.
  • Assist with Clinic Workflow: Directly support providers with daily workflow. Manage patient treatment rooms, ensuring timely setup, sanitization, and changeover between each patient.
  • Uphold Professionalism: Maintain overall cleanliness and appearance of the office environment.
  • Own Clinic Inventory: Take complete ownership of medical supplies, including tracking inventory needs, ordering, and ensuring all supplies are fully stocked and organized.
  • Contribute to Growth: Participate in additional projects and research initiatives as needed, contributing to the development and overall improvement of the practice.
  • Be a true team player: On our team everyone contributes. Whether it’s assisting a colleague, preparing a room, taking care of plants, caring for patients, or keeping the office looking its best.

Schedule

  • Core shifts available Mon to Fri, 9:30am - 8:30pm
  • Optional shifts Saturday 9:30am - 4:30pm

Required Qualifications

  • Commitment to safety standards and office policies: Masking at all times, strictly fragrance-free environment, professional grooming in accordance with OSHA, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year hospitality, customer service, or other client/customer facing experience
  • Minimum of one year of healthcare, patient facing experience
  • Proactive, dependable, organized, you must be able to anticipate needs
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility
  • Comfortable bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 pounds as part of stocking and office upkeep; climbing step stools/ladders
  • Comfortable working at a standing desk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to move, position and transfer patients
  • Must have reliable personal transportation: our clinic is not easily accessible by public transit
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficient typing; basic software comprehension
  • Trustworthy and able to maintain confidential information
  • Background check and drug screening are required

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
