Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team! The Medical Assistant (MA) in an OB-GYN office plays a vital role in supporting providers and ensuring high-quality care for women across all stages of life. This position is responsible for clinical and administrative support, patient flow, rooming and assisting with gynecologic and obstetric visits, maintaining accurate documentation, and delivering compassionate, respectful patient care. The Medical Assistant works closely with providers, front-office staff, and billing to ensure efficient clinic operations and a positive patient experience. our enthusiasm and attention to detail will help streamline patient flow, assist with clinical procedures, and enhance the overall patient experience. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure all supplies, instruments, and equipment are stocked, clean, and ready for patient care
- Room patients and accurately obtain vital signs, medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints
- Assist providers during OB-GYN exams and procedures
- Perform CLIA-waived testing (e.g., urine pregnancy tests, urinalysis, wet preps, rapid tests) per protocol
- Collect and properly label specimens; prepare specimens for lab processing and courier pickup
- Administer injections and medications as ordered by the provider
- Provide patient education related to procedures, medications, prenatal care, and follow-up instructions
- Maintain infection control standards, including proper sterilization and room turnover
- Respond to patient needs with professionalism, sensitivity, and confidentiality
- Support clinical operations by maintaining cleanliness of treatment areas, sterilizing equipment, and preparing supplies for procedures.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and managing documentation related to hospital or outpatient care.
Skills
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of OB-GYN clinical workflows and women’s health preferred
- Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and data entry; proficiency in ICD coding is a plus.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and hospital experience in medical-surgical or internal medicine units is advantageous.
- Strong clinical skills, including vital signs, injections, specimen collection, and assisting with procedures
- Capable of multitasking efficiently in fast-paced settings like urgent care centers or Level I trauma hospitals while maintaining high standards of patient safety and confidentiality.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (eClinicalWorks or similar preferred)

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
