Duties

  • Assist with patient intake, including collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems)
  • Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with precision
  • Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, positioning them appropriately, and ensuring comfort throughout their visit
  • Support physicians during procedures by handing instruments, managing supplies, and assisting with basic medical tasks such as medication administration or X-ray setup when applicable
  • Conduct basic laboratory tests, prepare specimens for analysis, and assist with diagnostic imaging procedures like X-ray or ultrasound as needed
  • Manage clinical documentation including ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), medication documentation, and procedure notes to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, scheduling follow-ups, and ensuring a positive experience from check-in to check-out

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics or hospital environments, preferably within dermatology, internal medicine, or emergency medicine settings
  • Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and hospital medicine practices to support comprehensive patient care
  • Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient documentation and patient record management
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle intake procedures accurately and efficiently in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication skills focused on compassionate patient service and teamwork within multidisciplinary teams
