Medical Assistant

Job Summary:

Health 210 is in the Westover area and is searching for a strong and compassionate medical assistant. The medical assistant will be responsible for performing a wide variety of medical and clinical support functions in outpatient clinical settings. Will assist with clinical and laboratory procedures, triaging, maintain equipment, provide direct patient care, and administer common medications according to provider orders. Will support the documentation of patients as dictated by the physician or provider.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED or equivalent required. Minimum of two years' experience in the health care industry working in a medical office. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels, both oral and written. Experience with Athena Health EMR preferred but not required. Bilingual a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs general office duties that require proficiency in communication and organizational skills.
• Provide great customer service.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual with great organizational skills.
• Computer skills and software aptitude.
• Intake patients by obtaining vital signs, weight, etc.
• Obtains history, chief complaint, medications, allergies, and documents appropriately in the EMR system.
• Report all pertinent findings to assigned physician or provider.
• Triages calls, medications/refills and facilitates patient needs, and documents all communication into the EMR system.
• Answer messages from patients per clinic policy.
• Handle medication refills or requests per clinic policy.
• Prepare e-charts for the next business day to provide physicians with all necessary test results, lab results and medical records as necessary.
• Communicate all necessary patient information to physician in a timely manner.
• Triage calls, medications/refills and facilitates patient needs, and documents all communication into the EMR system.
• Perform other related duties as indicated by clinic needs or when requested by manager.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
