Job Summary
We are a fast-paced, patient-focused pain management group seeking a reliable and motivated Medical Assistant to join our Rockwall clinic. This position requires flexibility to travel for training and clinic support as needed. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and thrives in a busy clinical environment.

Please note: Interviews will be conducted at our McKinney location, and the selected candidate must be able to travel for training and occasional clinic needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care during office visits, including consenting, procedure room preparation/assistance, and recovery
  • Take and document vital signs; prepare exam rooms and maintain clean, stocked clinical areas
  • Accurately document patient encounters in the EMR system (ModMed)
  • Provide patient education and follow-up instructions as directed by providers
  • Support administrative tasks such as documentation, scheduling assistance, and patient communication
  • Assist with clinic workflow to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care
  • Travel to other clinic locations for training or clinic coverage as needed

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant certification preferred, but not required
  • Previous clinical experience strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional, compassionate communication with patients and staff
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel for training or clinic needs
  • Experience with ModMed EMR preferred (training provided if needed)

Schedule & Hours

  • Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Occasional earlier start times may be required based on patient scheduling

Interview Location

  • First-round interviews will be held at our McKinney Central Business Office (CBO)

Duties

  • Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, updating records, and verifying insurance information using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates with precision and care
  • Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort throughout their visit
  • Support physicians during procedures by handing instruments, managing supplies, or administering medications under supervision
  • Perform basic diagnostic tasks including X-ray imaging or assisting with in-room testing as needed in outpatient or inpatient settings
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient interactions, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and procedural details for billing and record-keeping purposes
  • Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control protocols while supporting emergency medicine or trauma center operations when required

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant; pain management experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration techniques
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient documentation and patient management
  • Ability to handle diverse patient populations
  • Excellent communication skills to support patient service excellence and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
