Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and perform thorough intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and verifying insurance information.
- Measure vital signs accurately and document findings in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to ensure precise patient records.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as medication administration, specimen collection, act as a designated chaperone.
- Support patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and providing compassionate service throughout their visit.
- Prepare examination rooms by sterilizing equipment, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring a clean environment that adheres to safety standards.
- Manage administrative duties including scheduling appointments, updating patient information, ICD coding for diagnoses, and processing referrals efficiently.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in inpatient settings like Level I Trauma Centers or PICU units to support complex patient needs in fast-paced environments.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in women's health is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding to accurately document patient encounters.
- Hands-on experience with EHR (ATHENA) systems for documentation and order entry; proficiency in handling intake processes and vital signs measurement.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments including urgent care clinics or inpatient units like Geriatrics or Medical-surgical floors.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service; capable of supporting diverse populations across outpatient and inpatient settings.
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
