We are seeking a charismatic, energetic, and well-organized Medical Assistant with the determination and focus to grow with our Plastic Surgery & Med Spa Practice. The ideal candidate is a self- motivated team player and effective communicator, focused on delivering superior care and ensuring positive patient experiences and outcomes. The hours for this position are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8am-5pm, and Wednesday from 10:30am-6pm. Prior experience in a plastic surgery or dermatology practice preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Escorts patients to treatment rooms and prepares them for their cosmetic appointments. Take patient’s history, verify their medical and surgical histories, current medications, etc., and take vital signs if applicable.
- Responsible for documenting all information conveyed by the patient throughout the examination.
- Creates, maintains, copies and files patient encounters, records and other information as needed.
- Prior to patient visit, will confer with Providers regarding any incomplete patient tests/consults or other incomplete orders.
- Prepares, cleans, stocks, and maintains exam and treatment rooms daily.
- Cleans and sterilizes all necessary instruments. Prepares and maintains clinical supplies and equipment.
- Prior to treatment, ensures that all proper consents have been reviewed, initialed, signed and dated by the patient.
- Verifies that all assigned telephone encounters have been attended to daily, and triages and responds to patient communications per practice policy.
- Ensures that the delivery/transmittal of prescriptions is being completed and responds to medication requests per practice protocol.
- Reconstitutes/draws up injectables per provider instructions.
- Assists Providers during cosmetic procedures (injectables, lasers, consultations, etc.), as well as examinations and office procedures as needed; and provides other patient care services as directed by the Providers.
- Thorough knowledge and ability to recommend aesthetic procedures (lasers, microneedling, peels, etc.) as well as skin care products.
- Assist with frond desk responsibilities as needed.
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
- Supports on-site and off-site events.
- Performs other related work as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of medical practice and care.
- Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions.
- Assist in a variety of common office procedures.
- Ability to take vital signs.
- Develop and maintain clinical quality assurance.

- Maintain records and record test results.
- Interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.

- Knowledge of basic arithmetic and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in the operation of a computer keyboard.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- Medical Assistant Certification.
- Minimum of two years of experience working as a medical assistant for a plastic surgeon preferred.
- Sales experience preferred.
- Prior experience with Modernizing Medicine/EMA is helpful.
