MEDICAL ASSISTANT: Openings available in our Woburn Office.

Under the direction of the MA Lead, this position is responsible for assisting clinical care coordination by performing intake activities, assisting with post visit or procedural follow up activities with the patient and/or the provider, and answering patient questions. The MA is also responsible to ensure clinical supplies are stocked and available for procedures and/or services as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Prepare patients for provider visits by taking vitals and a brief medical history.

· Counsel patients by explaining physician’s orders and questions about procedures.

· Explain post procedure discharge instructions to patients.

· Processes urine drug screens and sends specimens out to lab with proper documentation.

· Assist physicians in Procedure Room and Pre-op/Recovery area during procedures.

· Assist with IV placement, fluoroscopy/ultrasound guided procedures, and EKGs

· Participate in post procedural follow-up calls

· Prepare patient charts, scan documents into EMR.

· Ensure efficient patient flow by keeping provider schedules running on time.

· Maintain quality patient care by following professional customer service practices and responding to patient inquiries.

· Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients and providers

· Must attain minimal performance metrics as required.

· Adhere to the HIPAA guidelines regarding confidentiality relating to the release of financial and medical information; provide for maintenance of confidentiality of patient records and communications.

· Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

· Experience with medical office practice clinical operations and patient care.

· Must possess understanding of procedure-based services, clinical supply stocking and use; and attention to detail required. Ability to focus and stay dedicated to task on hand.

· Must be dependable

· Detail oriented and ability to adapt to daily workflow changes

· Customer Service training strongly preferred

· Medical terminology knowledge

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / LICENSURE / TECHNICAL:

· Education: Associates Degree or graduation from certified Health Education Program strongly preferred. Recent college graduates with an interest in becoming an MD/NP/PA encouraged to apply.

· Experience: Experience in Physician Office setting is preferred

· Certification/Licensure: Medical Assistant Certification preferred, not required

· Software/Hardware: EPIC proficiency preferred, not required

Availability is Monday - Friday, Daytime hours. Starting rate is $20.00 - $23.00 commensurate with experience.
