Job Summary
We are looking for a Medical Assistant for a privately owned Urgent Care. Experience with EKG/Vaccines/Lab draws is a plus. We value good communication skills, friendly attitude and teamwork spirit. Our patients love us for these exceptional qualities!
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient visits.
- Perform basic clinical procedures such as administering medications/vaccines, phlebotomy, splinting, and assisting with minor procedures in outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Support documentation efforts by accurately updating electronic health records (EHR) systems with patient information and clinical notes.
- Provide excellent patient service
Requirements
- Prior experience working in urgent care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding practices.
- Experience with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions such as appointment scheduling and patient intake documentation.
- Familiarity with medication administration, X-ray operation, and basic life support protocols.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and provide compassionate patient care across diverse populations.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.50 - $19.50 per hour
