Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various medical settings, including family medicine, urgent care, and geriatric medicine. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support within our facility. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting healthcare professionals, managing patient intake, and ensuring a smooth workflow in the clinic or hospital environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake and accurately document medical histories.
- Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare providers.
- Respond to medication refill requests.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and manage patient information.
- Utilize medical terminology to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Support physicians during examinations and minor surgical procedures.
- Conduct basic life support (BLS) as needed in emergency situations.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar healthcare role is required.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, medications, and ICD coding is essential.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient documentation and patient management.
- Experience in outpatient settings, including clinics or urgent care facilities.
- Background in internal medicine, geriatrics, or emergency medicine is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments .
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with patients, families, and staff members.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications in relevant specialties are advantageous.
