ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Room patient via Zoom appointment. Follow multi-step workflow for rooming patient prior to, during and after the telehealth visit.
- In office appointments:
- Greets patients and prepares them for clinic appointment. Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in preparation for procedures.
- Collects vital signs and enters them into computer record. Rooms patient.
- Prepares equipment and assists physician during examination, procedures and testing of patients.
- Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. Responsible for stocking exam rooms and ordering of medical supplies.
- Assist with procedures (i.e. PAP set-up and training) in clinic.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Maintains timely flow of patients for providers.
- Enter patient information into computerized medical record. Transcribes answers from parent questionnaire into medical records.
- Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions per orders of the Advanced Practice Provider and/or physician.
- Responsible for conducting call backs to patients as directed by the physician and Advanced Practice Providers; appropriately document in patient chart.
- Provides support services to patients and medical staff. Answer questions regarding patient appointments and testing.
- Schedules, coordinates and reschedules patient appointments as necessary. Relays necessary messages to staff and patients.
- Provide back-up assistance to other PSS positions.
- Follow all HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
- Attends staff meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years work experience in a medical office setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Computer experience. Keyboard proficient. Accuracy more important than speed.
REQUIREMENTS – CERTIFICATE / LICENSE:
§ Certificate from an accredited program for Medical Assistants or RMA certification required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge and experience of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
- Skill in maintaining records and recording test results.
- Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions.
- Skill in developing and maintaining practice quality assurance and quality control standards.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and public.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
§ Knowledge of medical terminology.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Requires working remotely and in the offices/clinics based on schedule as needed.
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Assists patients weighing up to 200 pounds.
§ Stooping, bending and stretching for supplies and assisting patients.
- Requires manual dexterity and ability to sit for long periods of time to work on computer.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
§ Vision correctable to 20/20 and hearing in normal range for telephone contacts.
§ Speak and write in English.
§ Ability to handle stressful situations.
§ Work is performed in a medical office environment.
§ Involves frequent contact with staff and patients. May involve dealing with angry or upset people.
§ May include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc.
§ May require flexible working hours.
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
