Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily clinical operations and delivering a high standard of patient care. This position supports physicians and providers by preparing exam rooms, assisting with in-office procedures, managing clinical supplies, and maintaining equipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and passionate about patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Support:
- Prepare and set up for in-office procedures and patient appointments.
- Assist providers during exams and procedures as needed.
- Fit patients for Durable Medical Equipment (DME), inserts, and shoes.
- Place orders for orthotics and shoes as directed.
- Equipment & Room Maintenance:
- Sterilize instruments and maintain the autoclave according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Turn over and sanitize exam rooms between patients.
- Ensure exam rooms are fully stocked and organized daily.
- Clean and maintain office equipment; promptly report repair needs to the Regional Supervisor.
- Licensure & Compliance:
- Maintain active x-ray assistant licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ensure all patient consent forms are accurately completed and documented.
- Inventory & Ordering:
- Complete inventory checks and enter supply orders for approval.
- Monitor stock levels to ensure adequate clinical supplies are on hand.
- Administrative Duties:
- Verify that patient information is accurate and up to date in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Collaborate with administrative and clinical staff to support a cohesive patient experience.
Qualifications:
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant preferred.
- Valid and active x-ray assistant license (if applicable).
- Previous experience in a medical office or outpatient clinical setting.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and medical terminology.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.

- Ability to lift or move equipment and assist patients with mobility needs.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming clinical environment.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and staff development.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
