Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical procedures, patient care, and medical administrative support, with experience spanning various specialties including urgent care, and outpatient clinics. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where patient service excellence and clinical proficiency are paramount. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting physicians and healthcare providers by ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering compassionate patient care.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately.
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate to support diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and compliance with safety protocols.
- Administer medications and injections following established medical guidelines and protocols.
- Operate and maintain Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to document patient information securely and efficiently.
- Support diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging or other outpatient testing as required within the clinical setting.
- Assist with specimen collection, processing laboratory tests, and managing medical supplies inventory.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures, and fostering a welcoming environment.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in clinical settings such as dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or outpatient clinics.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology concepts, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and medication administration procedures.
- Experience working within Occupational Medicine or Urgent Care Centers is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical-surgical practices
- Prior experience is beneficial for specialized roles.
- Strong understanding of medical administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, insurance documentation, and patient record management using EHR systems.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or specific clinical skills are a plus. Pay: $24.68 - $29.72 per hour
