Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our medical staff .The Medical Assistant will assist with both clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth operations and effective patient management.
Duties
Medical Assistant will be responsible for but not limited to the following :
- Triage patients .
- Prepare medical records.
- Provide clinical help and assist during medical examinations.
- Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time , and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Maintain patient records, including updating medical histories and documenting vital signs.
- Provide medical administrative support by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling correspondence.
- Ensure compliance with office policies and procedures while maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
- As a Medical Assistant, you will be preparing for each patient visit by preparing charts and pulling notes before arrival, providing routine support alongside Doctors and medical /office staff.
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms .
- The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills and an interest in learning more about a working medical environment.
- Assist in answering phones , perform data entry and processing.
- Collects urine samples for testing.
- Draws blood samples safely and sends them to the laboratory without contamination.
Skills
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and medical billing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Proficiency in EMR systems .
- Experience handling and conducting high amounts of calls is highly desirable.
- Strong experience verifying insurance and handling prior authorizations is highly preferred.
- Spanish speaking highly preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
- BLS Certification (Required)
- Certified Medical Assistant desired
- Medical assisting certification(s)
- Phlebotomy certification desired
- Medical billing and coding experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong attention in details
- An ideal candidate would have at least one year of medical assisting or other healthcare experience, an understanding of medical terminology and medical coding/billing, and is proficient with a computer.
