Medical Assistant / Case Manager

Position : Case Manager/ Check-Out Department
Full time : Available Monday through Friday from 6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Education requirements : Registered Medical Assistant (5 + year experience preferred), or required work experience
Reports to: Clinical Manager

Summary : A Case Manager greets the patient after encounter with provider, processes new/refill prescriptions and orders for labs and diagnostic tests, initiates referrals, and schedules follow up appointments. Responsibilities also include telephone triage and follow up and management of clinical tasks in the EMR.

Job Skills/Requirements

  • Must have knowledge of medications {i.e. Sig definitions, indications}
  • Experience with medication prior authorizations and radiology precertification preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial
  • Must be able to communicate empathetically, but effectively
  • Time Management and organizational skills
  • Flexibility and ability to stay beyond scheduled time to complete high priority tasks as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment both as an individual and as a team member
