Medical Assistant- Cosmetic and Medical Dermatology

1 year of minimum experience REQUIRED in Medical Practice. Dermatology or Aesthetic experience a must.

A background in Aesthetics with Laser and Medical Devices is preferred.

ACCEPTING LICENSED MEDICAL ASSISTANTS, LPN, CNA. MUST BE CERTIFIED.

Responsibilities

- Maintain comfortable, orderly, safe, and clean environment for a patient-focused Practice.

- Provide a high level of support and assistance to patients and physicians.

- Escort patients to exam rooms.

- Obtain short history and vital signs as required by patients’ chief complaint.

- Obtain or update medication list as necessary and review proper use of medications prescribed within the practice.

- Set up exam room according to scheduled procedure and anticipate physician’s needs for unscheduled procedures.

- Assist physician and physician assistant with biopsies and surgical procedures such as excisions, ED&C, cryo-therapy, and state of the art laser and cosmetic procedures.

- Obtain proper consent.

- Educate patients as required once physician establishes treatment plan.

- Ensure that the patient understands treatment plan, understands the proper use of their medications and/or products, and understands their responsibility for compliance with the treatment plan prior to leaving the office.

- Straighten and clean exam rooms after patient visits.

- Stock exam rooms daily. Independently perform medical assistant procedures such as suture removal, dressing changes, dermasweep, and phlebotomy.

- Accurately complete all required pathology and laboratory requisition documents for patients as requested by physician.

- Ensure proper charting in EMR and act as scribe for physician.

- Return all patient phone calls regarding prescription refills/questions, procedure questions, product questions and triage appropriately.

- Track and chart all patient blood results for physician review and reconcile appropriately.

- Perform all duties related to medical instrument cleaning and sterilization.

- Responsible for keeping track of product lines for inventory and notifies office manager of supplies needed to avoid shortages.

- Perform other duties and tasks as needed for front desk reception including scheduling patient appointments, answering phones, initiating patient payment and demographic collection.

Strong verbal and written skills, and excellent customer service ability is required to making the practice a warm and supportive practice for our office and our patients. The ideal candidate is inspired to build on their experience. Candidates with aesthetic background and eager to grow in laser and medical technology, and injectables in dermatology medicine is required. Knowledge of EMR is a plus. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
