Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a high level of professionalism while working collaboratively with providers, staff, and patients.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, treatments, and clinical procedures.
- Perform patient intake assessments, including obtaining vital signs, reviewing medical histories, and documenting relevant information.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the provider, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to established protocols.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, offering support, and reinforcing treatment plans and provider instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and Basic Life Support (BLS) standards during patient interactions.
- Manage medical supplies, stock examination rooms, and help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment.
- Assist with front-office operations as needed, including patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, answering phones, and delivering outstanding customer service.
- Support daily clinic operations by adapting to changing patient and practice needs while maintaining efficiency and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a medical assistant is preferred; new grads will be considered.
- Knowledge of dermatology, internal medicine practices are beneficial.
- Proficient understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology knowledge.
- Experience with EHR systems for efficient patient record management.
- Ability to work effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to provide excellent patient service and support healthcare providers.
