Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant Float to join our growing team of 4 medical assistants.
***MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL TO HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE WEEKLY***
You will play a key role in supporting providers and ensuring a smooth, positive experience for our patients in high-volume clinic settings. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical and administrative skills, with preferred experience in pain management and a working understanding of interventional pain procedures as well as eClinicalWorks EMR experience. *** eClinicalWorks experience required. Contractor service agreement acceptance prior to transition to full-time employee (if applicable).
We currently have a collaborative team of four Medical Assistants, and due to increasing patient volume and a third nurse practitioner to be added to the team, we are adding to the team to continue providing timely and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Measure and record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, weight, etc.).
- Accurately document patient history, chief complaints, and other pertinent medical information in the EMR system.
- Accurately document Pill Counts
- Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures, especially on procedure days.
- Transport patients to and from procedure rooms and assist with caregiver coordination.
- Provide clear instructions and education to patients regarding medications, treatment plans, and aftercare.
- Schedule appointments, including surgical procedures, with close attention to detail and protocol compliance.
- Understand and apply guidelines related to blood thinners/anticoagulants when scheduling and preparing for procedures as well as protocol for stopping GLP-1 agents for sedation.
- Process outgoing referrals, follow up on labs, imaging, and procedure results.
- Manage Telephone Encounters via incoming calls, messages, and emails with professionalism and efficiency, daily
- Maintain clean, well-stocked, and organized exam and procedure rooms.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and adhere to all sanitation and infection control protocols.
- Greet patients for their urine analysis if applicable,
- Room patients and take vitals and correctly document Pill Counts via paperwork and EMR
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience in pain management or interventional pain procedures is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of pre-procedural requirements, including blood thinner management or stopping GLP-1 agents for sedation requirements.
- Proven ability to prioritize scheduling tasks, particularly in a high-volume clinical environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; patient-centered and team-oriented.
- Proficient in medical terminology and outpatient workflows.
- Comfortable with EMR systems (ideally eClinicalWorks) and digital documentation.
- Detail-oriented, efficient, and able to multitask under pressure.
- Ability to take and interpret vital signs accurately.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.50 per hour
