Summary

As a Medical Assistant at Selma Medical Associates, Inc., you will be an integral part of our healthcare team, providing essential support in delivering high-quality patient care. This role is vital in ensuring smooth operations within our practice and enhancing the overall patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Measure and record vital signs accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and answering questions.
• Administer basic life support as needed and maintain a safe environment for patients.
• Manage patient records, including coding for billing purposes and maintaining confidentiality.
• Coordinate patient flow to ensure timely appointments and minimize wait times.
• Educate patients on medication usage, treatment plans, and follow-up care as directed by physicians.
• Collaborate with other medical staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent EXPERIENCE is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and basic life support techniques.
• Proficient in taking vital signs and performing basic clinical tasks.
• Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to care.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with coding practices for accurate billing is a plus.
• Experience in hospital medicine or medical-surgical settings is beneficial but not required.
