MEDICAL ASSISTANT / FRONT DESK PART TIME

Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Part-Time Medical Assistant / Front Desk professional, where your energy and dedication will directly impact patient experiences and clinic operations. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment, supporting both clinical and administrative functions. You will be the friendly face greeting patients, managing appointments, and assisting healthcare providers with vital clinical tasks. Ideal candidates are motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to quality patient care in outpatient settings such as dermatology, urgent care, internal medicine, or hospital medicine.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in/check-out processes using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Collect patient information, verify insurance details, and perform initial intake procedures
  • Measure vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates
  • Assist healthcare providers with basic clinical tasks such as medication administration, specimen collection, and preparing patients for examinations or procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient encounters, ICD coding for diagnoses, and medical histories with attention to detail
  • Support hospital medicine or outpatient clinics by understanding anatomy and physiology to assist in patient assessments
  • Manage appointment scheduling, follow-up reminders, and coordinate referrals or diagnostic tests like X-ray or lab work

Requirements

  • Prior experience in medical settings such as dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or outpatient clinics is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration procedures
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and medical administrative support tasks
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required to ensure patient safety during clinical procedures
  • Experience working in inpatient environments or Level I/II trauma centers adds valuable insight into emergency medicine protocols
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence and professionalism
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced setting
