Medical Assistant – Full Time (Growth Opportunity!)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Medical Assistant for a full time position, to assist providers and to support office staff. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about healthcare, willing to travel, and eager to learn, performing a mix of administrative and clinical tasks, including facilitating telehealth visits, preparing patients, shadowing clinicians, and learning to scribe within the EMR system. Duties/ Responsibilities: Some of the responsibilities of the medical assistant have been listed below, however, our organization is evolving and that could mean a change in tasks and responsibilities.

  • Check-in Patients and have the patient charts ready for the clinician.
  • Train on the EMR and other software used by our organization.
  • Ensure Medical Records, Faxes and Medication refills are handled in the system appropriately.
  • Ensure appropriate forms and records are handed to patients appropriately.
  • Willing to commute to our off-site facilities.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, take vitals, set-up/ take electrocardiograms. Ensure documents are uploaded in the EMR as soon as they are taken.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures as well as complying with legal regulations.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies, placing orders, verifying receipt.
  • Keep equipment running by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance as well as calling for repairs.
  • Assist Nurse Practitioners with scribe and updating patient records in our EMR.
  • Protect the practice by adhering to professional standards, facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with the Scribe team; help coach, mentor and train as needed.
  • Accept ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to their own learning and growth as well as the growth and success of the practice.
  • Coordinating with our in-network specialists

Required Skills/ Abilities:

  • Exceptional in verbal and written communication
  • Must be an excellent team player with great interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience working on an EMR, must be tech savvy.
  • High on accountability and attendance since this is a direct, customer-faced role.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Adaptable and growth oriented
  • Positive attitude towards responsibilities and team

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in EMR (Electronic Medical Records), Medical Terminology
  • Medical Assistant Certification
