We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant (MA) to join our newly opened Novato clinic. This is a full-time role for someone who is dependable, emotionally attuned, and capable of supporting both clinical care and front office operations as the clinic continues to grow.
Position Overview
This is a full-time, dual-role position designed for a clinic in its early growth phase.
You will play a critical role in:
- Supporting clinical care delivery
- Leading the front-line patient experience
This role requires someone who can move seamlessly between clinical responsibilities and patient-facing interactions, while maintaining a high level of professionalism, empathy, and ownership.
What You’ll Do:
Patient Experience & Front Desk Support
- Greet patients and create a calm, welcoming environment
- Answer incoming calls and assist with scheduling and patient inquiries
- Personalize each interaction—ensuring patients feel known, not processed
- Listen with empathy and patience, especially for those navigating mental health challenges
- Provide clear next steps and reduce friction in the patient experience
- Maintain an organized, professional front office
Clinical Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for appointments and assist providers during visits
- Take vital signs and accurately document patient information in the EMR
- Support advanced psychiatric treatments including:
- Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
- Spravato (esketamine)
- Monitor patients during treatment and report concerns to the clinical team
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation
- Support clinic flow to ensure patients are seen efficiently and safely

Qualifications
- Medical Assistant (MA or CMA) certification required
- 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant (required)
- Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication and patient service skills
- Highly reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable balancing both clinical and administrative responsibilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
- Experience in behavioral health or psychiatry strongly preferred
