Medical Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:
- Check patients in and bring them back into the treatment room
- Be warm, welcoming and a team worker
- Cross train as a receptionist and be able to perform all duties of an office receptionist as needed
- Help patients by providing information, services, and assistance
- Maintain medical supplies inventory and perform preventive maintenance to keep medical equipment operating properly
- Verify patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit
- Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, pulse, requesting height, measuring weight, oxygen saturation and temperature ; and reporting patient history summary
- Help with office procedures
- Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; and keeping patient information confidential
- Counsel patients by transmitting physician’s orders and questions about surgery or other medical conditions as appropriate
- Schedule surgeries by making arrangements with the surgical center; verifying times with patients; and preparing charts and pre-admission and consent forms
- Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
- Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt
- Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications
- Adhere to professional standards, facility policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements
- Enhance practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch break.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) (will accept those in progress/pending)
- 1+ years in a medical office
- Experience with EMR (electronic medical records), medical terminology. Experience with eclinical works is a plus
- Previous experience in gynecology is preferred
